As it turns out, Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash is an innocent man after all -- the 'Sesame Street' veteran was recently accused of having an affair with a 16 year old some seven years ago, but now the accuser has recanted the allegations.

Today's post is brought to you by the letter A. A is for Abuse. A is for Allegations. A is for A-hole, like the guy who Accused Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash -- the subject of the heart-warming documentary 'Being Elmo' -- of having an Affair when the Alleged victim was just 16. The man, now 23, said he had e-mail proof that Clash willingly carried on this affair while the man was underage, and we don't work the docks or anything, but it seemed pretty fishy to us. Clash took leave from 'Sesame Street' to combat the allegations and said he did have an affair with the man, but only when the guy was 18 and of legal age.

And now, according to the New York Times, the accuser has recanted his accusations. The accuser released the following statement via his attorneys:

He wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship. He will have no further comment on the matter.

That's it? You tarnish the reputation of a man who works with children in a move that could ruin his career as one of America's most loved puppets, a guy who enriches the lives of children -- and you can't even say you're sorry? This guy lied, most likely spitefully and/or out of revenge, and he just walks away like it's no big deal.

But Clash is taking the high road and staying classy with his formal response:

I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further.

And he shouldn't have to. Show's over folks, nothing to see here. Now let's get back to the alphabet and sharing. You guys want some juice and cookies?
