It's been four years since Frozen came out and stole the hearts of anyone who watched it, and in the years that have followed fans have been begging Disney to include an LGBTQ character in the sequel — something that has yet to be overtly represented in any of the mogul's movies.

But would it be a new, gay character that's introduced? No. Fans have created complex theories that Elsa is, in fact, a queer character. From her urge to reunite with her sister rather than a male love interest to "Let It Go" being appropriated as a queer anthem (some fans speculate the princess trying to control her powers mirrors the slipperiness of coming out), it would not be difficult to reveal Elsa's sexuality in the sequel, but is it plausible?

In a recent interview with Huffington Post, co-director and writer Jennifer Lee addressed fans' pleas.  she said.

However, that does not guarantee Elsa will get a girlfriend in Frozen 2. “I always write from character-out, and where Elsa is and what Elsa’s doing in her life, she’s telling me every day. We’ll see where we go,” Lee said.
