Making the perfect day or overnight trip, you can travel to the Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas. The annual display of lights is available on the grounds year-round, every Christmas season. They have a special holiday display this season called Star: the dancing tree of light – a four-story digital Christmas tree.

This isn’t the only exciting thing about visiting the Festival of Lights this year though. Moody Gardens is offering their guests the opportunity to help local food banks in order to receive a 2 for 1 deal admission to the show.

On every Thursday night in December, called Food Drive Thursdays, visitors are able to bring a non-perishable food item in order to receive the deal. Utilizing this special admission discount, these guests will also receive recognition for helping those who are in need this holiday season. The donations are open every Thursday as the Festival of Lights will remain open until January 2, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All donations collected will benefit the Houston and Galveston County food banks.

Other discounted days will be included on Thursdays through Sundays where tickets will be available at a cheaper price but the deal won’t last long as it ends on December 17th.

The trail in length totals a mile long and has over two million lights along with scenes in which holiday music plays behind. The trail extends throughout the Moody Gardens property and will expose visitors to amazing views of Galveston Bay.

You can visit here to view prices for groups, travel packages, Santa’s Crowd forecast, as well as parking and directions.

We wish you a Merry Christmas!
