Eyes On Our Heroes 2014
On September 12, 2014, Dr. George Boozalis and Victoria Eye Center are going to give three (3) current police officers, firefighters, and/or EMT’s the gift of sight without lenses, for FREE. “The men and women who dedicate their lives to public service carry such a heavy load and responsibility that they shouldn’t have the additional burden of poor vision and corrective lenses,” said Dr. George Boozalis. If you are currently a firefighter, EMT, or police officer, please register for your chance to receive FREE Laser Vision Correction or LASIK.
The Procedure
In remembrance of 9/11, three first responders will receive a LASIK procedure on September 12. The three first responders who get the most votes for their stories, will receive a Bilateral Custom Wavefront Optimized LASIK or PRK procedure with all of the post-operative exams and enhancements needed for 1 year, all at no charge. The retail value of these procedures for both eyes is $3,995 per first responder.
How to Register
All interested and qualified first responders should go to the Victoria Eye Center Facebook page at and tell us why you or someone you know deserves free LASIK. On August 15, candidate names will be assembled and six (6) stories will be chosen by the Victoria Eye Center staff. The selected story contestants will be asked to attend a LASIK exam to determine if they are candidates for LASIK or laser vision correction. Their stories will be placed on Victoria Eye Center’s Facebook for a final public vote where three winners will be announced on August 25, 2014. The exam is essential as not everyone is medically eligible for Laser Vision Correction. Contestants must also be able and available to have the procedure on September 12. Note: If contestants wear Toric, rigid or gas permeable lenses, it is advised that they remove their lenses 2-3 weeks prior to the contest deadline. A $500 discount will be given to all non-winning first responders who have surgery before September 25, 2014. Everyone interested, including first responders, may also order a free information packet to learn more about the LASIK procedure and Victoria Eye Center.
