First ‘Man of Steel’ Clip: Superman Gets Lois Lane in Trouble
The first 'Man of Steel' clip has arrived! Is it a thrilling scene of Superman in flight? Is it an action-packed throwdown between Superman and Zod? No! It's...Lois Lane (Amy Adams) getting chewed out by her editor, Perry White (Laurence Fishburne). Huh.
Okay, that's unfair. The clip (which premiered on 'Ellen') is perfectly fine and it gives us a good look at two of the Superman mythos' most iconic supporting characters. Heck, we're one Jimmy Olsen away from seeing the whole Daily Planet crew here. Also, it's nice to see that, despite many other changes that have been made to update Superman, Lois and Perry are still essentially the same people. She's a fiery, tough and independent journalist. He's an ethical and careful editor.
Although the exact context of the scene is missing, we can safely assume that they're discussing Lois' attempts to write a story about Superman and Perry's belief that she's crazy for thinking that such a man actually exists. Naturally, Perry will be proven very, very wrong during the course of the movie.
'Man of Steel' opens on June 14 and also stars Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.
