If you've ever wanted to learn how to deal with emergency situations, I have some good news for you. Victoria County officials are offering free classes to residents beginning this weekend.

The Community Emergency Response Team training course is set for this Saturday February 4th and February 11th from 8am to 1pm at 205 N. Bridge Street in Victoria.

Officials including Victoria Fire Marshal Tom Legler, Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Richard McBrayer, Gulf Bend Center mental health officials and others will teach students basic response skills including fire safety, search and rescue, disaster psychology, and hands-free CPR.
