Here in Texas, I see a lot of pride everywhere I go. There's a lot of Texas pride, but I also see a lot of American pride. That's why I was a little surprised to see a recent study that showed that our fair state didn't even make the top 20 on a list of Most Patriotic States in the Nation. Wait, what???

WalletHub compiles statistics and information on a whole range of topics that affect consumers and business professionals, from sources such as the Bureal of Labor Stastics, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and others, in this case specifically to gauge Military and Civic Engagement.

Virginia came out on top as the most patriotic, with Washington and Colorado rounding out the top 3. New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island ranked as the least patriotic.

How did Texas fare according to those metrics? A whopping 33rd.
