Almonds Found In Vanilla Ice Cream Leads To Important Recalls
If you’ve picked up a pint, quart, or half gallon of Vanilla G.Nutt ice cream recently, here’s something you need to know—it may contain almonds that aren’t listed on the label.
The brand behind it, Ice Cream Factory (based in Mount Vernon, NY), is recalling a small batch—40 pints, 8 quarts, and 3 half gallons—because almonds accidentally made their way into the product without being declared. If you or someone in your home has a tree nut allergy, this could be a serious health risk, even life-threatening.
Check your freezer for the following:
- Pint (plastic container): UPC 8 56781 00361 3
- Quart (white paper container): UPC 8 56781 00362 0
- Half Gallon (plastic container): UPC 8 56781 00363 7
- Expiration Date: March 2027 (on the back label)
So far, no one has gotten sick, but this kind of labeling slip-up is a big deal for people with allergies. The company says the mistake was due to a temporary breakdown in their production and packaging process—in other words, someone messed up, and now they’re trying to fix it.
If you have this ice cream at home, don’t eat it. Just bring it back to the store for a full refund or swap it out for a different flavor.
Mistakes happen—but when food allergies are involved, there’s no room for error. Stay safe and check those labels.

Last month a variety of frozen shrimp was recalled across the nation as disturbing amounts of radio active elements were possibly found.
