Are Directioners' prayers finally about to be answered? If bookies are to be believed, a proper One Direction reunion could be much closer than we initially believed.

According to the Daily Express, Coral, a leading bookmaker in the U.K., has slashed the odds of the boy band reuniting by the end of 2018.

Following a rather "suspiciously large gamble" earlier last week, Coral cut the odds from 2-to-1 to 4-to-6, indicating an increased chance that Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and perhaps even Zayn Malik could make more music together as early as this year.

"If this latest gamble is anything to go off, One Direction could be set for a comeback in 2018 which will delight their army of fans across the world," a company spokesperson told the publication.

In 2016, Payne expressed his belief that the ultra-famous British group would eventually get back together.

"I'm 100% certain we will," the "Strip That Down" singer told fans on Twitter when asked about the prospects of a 1D reunion.
