A $ ! million lawsuit has been against Texas giant H-E-B and TK Elevator Corporation after a 3-year-old lost four fingers in an escalator incident at an H-E-B in Harris County. My San Antonio reports that the  incident took place on March 30, 2024, at the H-E-B store in Bellaire, Texas

The lawsuit alleges  3-year-old was shopping with her parents at the store when her right hand became trapped by a "dangerously" wide gap between the escalator steps and the skirt. Her hand became wedged, resulting in the amputation of her fingers.

My SA has reached out to both Tk Elevators and HEB. TK has not responded back. HEB did issue the following statement:

"At H-E-B, we are deeply committed to our customers and their safety. This was an incredibly unfortunate accident that we are taking seriously. Although, based on our current investigation of this matter, the escalator was serviced by a third-party company, we will do our best to support the family through this difficult time."

This Texas Apartment Building Has an HEB in the “Lobby”

Okay, maybe not an actual lobby. However, when you get down to the bottom floor on the escalator of this apartment, you find an entrance to HEB, so I will call it the 'lobby.' In a TikTok video posted by houston.apartments, the first part shows how someone living in the Buffalo Heights Apartments would enter HEB. In case you are wondering, a one-bedroom goes for about $1500 and a two-bedroom goes for about $2600.
