Celebration of Life & Memorial Service For Brother Gary Moses

Over the past few days, our community has come together to celebrate our beloved Brother Gary Moses. Brother Gary Moses passed away on Sunday, July 19, after a courageous nine-month battle with a rare disease. Since Sunday, my Facebook page should have been renamed Brother Gary Moses-book page. So many wonderful memories and photos throughout the years.

On Wednesday, July 29, from 3 to 7 p.m., the Moses Family and the City of Victoria will honor the life and legacy of Gary Moses on his birthday, in a building that will soon carry his name, with the people he loved, gathered in one place, in community with each other.

The event will take place at the Brother Gary Moses Community Center, 2905 E. North St. Space is limited, and overflow viewing of the service will be available at the host site at the Club Westerner, 1005 W. Constitution St.

3:00 p.m. — Doors open
4:00 to 5:00 p.m. — Memorial & Celebration Service
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. — Community Reception and Fellowship

Space at the Community Center will be limited during the service, from 4 to 5 p.m. Seating and standing room will be available in both the Community Dome and Annex. Once the service ends, the seating will be cleared, and many more people will be welcomed in for the community reception and fellowship from 5 to 7 p.m.

Light bites and birthday cake will be provided by Sweet Fountainz Bakery, Chick-fil-A, HEB, Mumford's BBQ, and coffee from Starbucks.

Brother Gary loved this community; he loved education and taught at Patty Welder Middle School for 37 years. He spent his life giving back and inspiring others to do the same. This scholarship carries his heart for service and his legacy forward. Get more information and donate by clicking here.
