Iconic Street Corner In Victoria Gets New Life
Yesterday, we learned some exciting news about one local business, the Water Well Cafe. They will be expanding with a second location at the corner of Airline and Laurent. The name for this location will be Water Well Cafe 361.
Here is what we know about the new location so far.
The new location is planned to open in the summer of this year. There will be no alcohol served at this location, keeping it very family-friendly. The patio will remain and be revamped to include a kids' zone, keeping with the family concept. The bigger space will also help with their food ministry and food pantry.
The Water Well Cafe opened in downtown Victoria in 2021.
The original Water Well Cafe opened in Downtown Victoria in 2021. They have built a loyal fanbase and of course, the delicious food doesn't hurt.
Hungry Jack's closed after being damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
Most recently, this was the Burddogz building and was open for a little over five years. However, most people associate this corner with Hungry Jack's. HJ became an iconic Victoria business and was open for 45 years before closing down after being damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
Not only was this a great place to enjoy an adult beverage, but the food was bomb. My personal favorite plate was the chicken-fried steak and mashed potatoes. However, the star of the plate was that incredible gravy. If you know, you know! In fact, if you are a Victoria OG, you remember that there used to be a gas station across from Hungry Jack's.
