In July 2021, the College sports world was shaken by the announcement that the University Of Texas and the University of Oklahoma were joining the Southeastern Conference.

Texas A&M University, the lone SEC member in Texas at the time, was not thrilled about the prospect of their long-standing rivals joining. The deal, however, was sealed, and after a nail-biting three-year wait, the Longhorns and the Sooners are set to join the SEC on July 1.

It is a big week in Austin. Many of the most influential representatives from the most potent college athletics conference will be in Austin to celebrate—the biggest of all is SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.

Get ready for a week of non-stop excitement in Austin. The University of Texas is hosting a grand celebration, reaching its peak on Sunday, June 30. From 1 to 10 PM, the SEC Celebration will take over several campus venues, and the Tower area will come alive with a concert featuring a top-tier music artist. The best part? It's all FREE for the public to enjoy.

Adding to the excitement, the ESPN SEC Network will be present, broadcasting and playing a pivotal role in welcoming the Longhorns to their new conference, a momentous occasion for all college sports enthusiasts.

Food trucks will be throughout the campus, where 21 and up can find beverages. Another bonus is free parking around the campus.

It has been a long wait for University of Texas Longhorns fans. After a couple of years of abuse by the fans of the Big 12, they now get the famous competitive abuse of the SEC Schools.
