Texas Coast Getting Ready For Hurricane Beryl
Only a little time remains to prepare for Hurricane Beryl, but many in the Crossroads have already done so.
As you drive around Victoria, you will see staging for disaster crews waiting to see where Beryl makes landfall. Why do you think it is called the Crossroads anyway? We are central to any area with the most potent hit from Hurricane Beryl.
Crews provide electric service and powerlines, clear tree debris, and other essential services.
Big Box stores are doing a great deal of business. People are lining up for plywood, screws, gloves, and anything else they need to prepare for Beryl.
When you drive around, there's less traffic than usual in Victoria. You see the massive amount of help from all over the country. Many companies are coming into Texas from as far away as Indiana to help keep the power on and help with cleanup.
Whether in Victoria County or the 11 surrounding counties, our friends at White Trash Service will be there for the community to help the Crossroads
As Hurricane Beryl strengthens in the Gulf of Mexico, we wait on the Texas Coast to see where he lands. It's been quite a waiting game watching this slow-moving storm.
You still have a little time to plan how to care for yourself and your family. This storm has been hard for forecasters to track. It has changed course several times this week but will hit somewhere along the Mid-Texas Coast, so prepare now. If you are going to leave the area, you should be heading out soon to avoid long lines of traffic.
If you are staying, prep time is dwindling fast. Either way, we will have lots of help.
