THROWBACK THURSDAY: Tejas Cafe and Bar Was The Spot
It's time for another Throwback Thursday article! Today, we remember Tejas Restaurant on Navarro. In comparison, Tejas Restaurant might not have been as popular as some of the other restaurants in Victoria. It was one of my favorites. It was open for 17 years and closed its doors in September of 2010!
Tejas Cafe and Bar had a great atmosphere, and it also had one of my favorite menu items. Their Three Alarm Chicken Fried Steak was a chicken-fried steak covered in queso, jalapeños, and pico de gallo. My family had many great meals there.

That location has been many other restaurants.
Since then, that location has been many different things: Cuero's Sports Cantina, Halftime Grill and Sports Bar, and Froggy's. Froggy's has been opened since 2020 and has become a favorite for Victoria locals.
That stretch of Navarro has changes so much since then.
Other portions of that stretch of Navarro have changed since 2010 as well. Back then, Taco Bell was still there. You could still get an oil change and a presale ticket to the next big dance at Pete's Fina Mart. We can't forget about Furr's and Cactus Canyon. Such great memories.
