Yesterday, two Victoria establishments, Rumorz and Shadows Bar, both located on Navarro, raised their age requirement to 25. Rumorz has announced the age change will be effective on Monday, August 10.
In a statement posted to Facebook, Rumorz stated

"We've seen an increase in behavior that doesn't align with the atmosphere we;re striving for. We've dealt with guest drinking in the parking lot, loitering, showing disrespect to our staff and property, and creating situations that negatively impact the experience for everyone else'

There is also mention that there is no dedicated bar for 25+ in Victoria. Just two hours later, Shadow's Bar also posted the same age change. The statement states that this is a joint decision with Rumorz, who share the same shopping center.

This kind of thing is already trending around the Country.

Just a few years ago, I wrote about a couple of establishments in San Antonio that raised their age requirement to 30 years old. The owner of the establishment cited that the more mature crowd doesn't bring the drama. This same thing has just happened in Victoria.
This is the perfect time to bring back my article about Victoria needing a nightclub for 30+. Wouldn't it be cool if a club opened at 7 p.m. and got poppin' around 9 p.m. and closed at 11 p.m.? It's something that’s popping up around the Country.  This is my personal opinion, but I think it could work.
