While Texas Continues To Wait For Marijuana Legalization To Become A Statewide Thing, Some Folks Are Still Unaware That Weed Is Still Illegal.

Every April 20th, cannabis enthusiasts worldwide come together to celebrate what's colloquially known as "4/20." Originating from the ritualistic time of day for some to indulge in marijuana, the date has evolved into a cultural phenomenon.

But some folks tend to forget that in the State Of Texas, its still ILLEGAL to have weed and a Central Texas business felt the wrath of law enforcement after they took to social media to "promote" what they were doing.

On April 20, 2024, detectives with the Special Investigation Division, conducted a special detail at the LQ Lounge.

The LQ Lounge is located in Killeen, TX and on the infamous 4/20 day, Killeen police responded to a citizen’s complaint about an event at this establishment.

The business had announced in a Facebook post about the “Puff Puff Pass Paint N Sip” event that said “everything consumed will be ganja or shrooms.”

Of course, law enforcement decided to stop by the establishment to see what was going on and officers arrested one person for Possession of Controlled Substance.

A narcotics search warrant was executed and drugs were found.

Detectives seized 26 grams of Marijuana (leaf), 6 grams of THC Wax Substance, 6.55 lbs. of THC liquid, 786 grams of unknown purple substance, vape pen, two cell phones and Drug Paraphernalia according to KilleenPD News.

Police released a statement that said: "We would like to remind parents to educate their young teens on the dangers of using vapes and be alert on these types of ads and/or events shared on social media." KPD did not release the name of the person arrested.
