Austin, Texas police were pursuing a suspect on foot that began to run up an overpass with an officer giving chase, and patrol cars also following as the suspect then climbed over the barricade to escape. After the suspect climbed over the edge of the overpass bridge, the officer chasing on foot immediately grabbed his arms while another member of the police quickly hops out of their patrol car to also assist.

The police due struggled to gain control as the suspect appears to fervently resist in their attempts to pull him back over the barrier to safety. An Instagram account with the handle @citizen shared video capturing the foot chase and then the man's eventual drop from the arms of two police officers with a caption that says it happened in Austin.

From watching the video being captured in a Randalls parking lot, it appears the overpass where the accident happened was where 290 crosses over Menchaca Road near the confluence of the Westgate, South Manchaca, and South Lamar neighborhoods.

It has been challenging to determine what happened to the man after falling from Highway 290, and it appears even the local Austin media has not covered this story since the video was first uploaded to Reddit on March 11th. There also does not appear to be any information on the Austin Police media release page.
