Jennifer Hudson Sheds Tears in New ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ Preview
Jennifer Hudson is sitting down for an in-depth interview for ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter,’ in which she discusses the murder of her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew in 2008.
A promo for the show opens with host Oprah Winfrey praising the star for her accomplishments as a singer, actor, author, mother and designer. “You really are a brand in the making,” she says.
Later in the interview, Hudson is joined by her fiance, David Otunga. The couple have been engaged for over three years, and have a son, David Jr., together. Never one to miss a beat, Winfrey asks the couple when the wedding will be.
Finally, fans see a snippet of a tearful Hudson and her sister, Julia, discussing the tragic loss of her family members four years ago. William Balfour, Julia’s estranged husband, was found guilty of the murders in May, and is currently serving three life sentences for the crimes. In the sneak peek, Winfrey poses, “When you discovered the murders, you knew immediately who had done it.” Hudson responds, “We all did.”
Winfrey has been offering eye-opening interviews with her new show, featuring everyone from the Kardashians to Rihanna. The new episode of ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ will air on OWN on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 9PM ET.
