
Texas Teen’s Death Sparks Search for Jet Ski Hit-and-Run Suspect
An 18-year-old was killed over Memorial Day weekend in a jet ski hit-and-run on Grapevine Lake, and the driver still hasn’t been found.
Ava Moore was kayaking near Oak Grove Park on Sunday evening when a jet ski slammed into her. According to Grapevine Police, two women were riding the jet ski at high speed when it collided with Ava’s kayak.
One Woman Fled the Scene
After the crash, one of the women stayed behind. The other fled, getting into a vehicle with an unidentified man. During their escape, they struck another car before ditching the getaway vehicle at a nearby apartment complex in Grapevine.

“Our thoughts are with Ava's family and friends during this difficult time, Texas Game Wardens remain committed to keeping our waters safe," Grapevine PD said in a statement.
Authorities released a photo of the suspected jet ski driver and are urging the public to help. Anyone with information can email detectives at cidmail@grapevinetexas.gov.
Ava Moore was an athlete and future airman.
Ava had just graduated from Timber Creek High School and completed her first year at the U.S. Air Force Prep School in Colorado Springs. She was a standout basketball player with plans to serve her country.
Her family has started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses, which has already raised over $19,000.
Police Still Searching for Suspects
Texas Game Wardens are leading the investigation on the water, while Grapevine Police are handling the hit-and-run. The driver is still at large.
