Another retailer plans to shut the doors to more than half of their stores this year.

With $1 billion in debt, 2 bankruptcies, and a massive amount of closures across the country, JoAnn Fabrics is doing everything to keep it's company alive. Out of its nearly 850 stores, JoAnn Fabrics is going forward with eliminating 500 of them.

Michael Prendergast, interim CEO of Joann, said in January:

The last several years have presented significant and lasting challenges in the retail environment, which, coupled with our current financial position and constrained inventory levels, forced us to take this step."

Stores all across the country will be closing, including many in Texas, which has 43 stores in the state. The most recent numbers reveal 18 Texas stores that will be closing down.
