Earlier this week, Lauren Alaina beat her fellow ‘American Idol’ alum to the punch when she debuted her video for ‘Like My Mother Does’ a day before Scotty McCreery premiered his clip for ‘I Love You This Big.’

When it comes to the release dates for their debut albums, the budding stars will trade places.

In announcements made Thursday night, Alaina and McCreery revealed the titles and release dates for their upcoming debuts. McCreery’s, titled ‘Clear As Day,’ will reach stores on October 4, while Alaina’s, called ‘Wildflower,’ will follow one week later.

“‘Clear as Day’ is definitely country and it’s definitely me,” McCreery said. “It has some old country influences and elements, but it also has a contemporary feel with fun up-tempo songs. It’s a good mixture. You can hear some of the influences that I grew up with, like Hank Williams, Conway Twitty and Merle Haggard, but it still has a contemporary twist and feel that keeps it up to date.”

“Wildflowers are sweet, but then they have a little bit of spunk to them,” Alaina explained. “I like to have a lot of fun and I’m really sassy, so I feel like a wildflower would be a good description of who I am as a person. I also recorded a song on this album called ‘She’s a Wildflower’ that was written by Steve McEwan, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson.”

‘Like My Mother Does’ has reached the top 20 of Billboard’s Hot 100, while ‘I Love You This Big’ has peaked (so far) just outside the top 10.
