Wild About Wine at The Texas Zoo

It's the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Texas Zoo, it's Wild About Wine and you are invited!

We talk a lot about animals on the radio as it turns out each of the DJs here are big fans of pets, rescues, and all things furry, scaly, and slimy! It turns out you are too, so we thought we'd include a fundraising event in Victoria that directly affects the future of the Texas Zoo.

Join the fun at the Zoo for Wild About Wine!

Experience Wild About Wine on September 24th from 7 pm to 11 pm as the Texas Zoo is " transformed into an exotic escape in the vibrant colors of the peacock!"

You can sip on local and imported wines with perfectly paired hors d'oeuvres while also enjoying animal encounters and live music!

How does it benefit the Texas Zoo?

Wild About Wine is the Texas Zoos biggest yearly fundraiser with proceeds going to keep the doors of the zoo open each year. If you've lived in Victoria for a while you know all too well, we've had some close calls with the Texas Zoo worried that they would have to close its doors.

I will never forget interviewing the staff at the Texas Zoo after Hurricane Harvey and the care and efforts they made to stay overnight and through the storm with the animals as well as countless additional hours of clean-up in the aftermath of the storm. This wasn't the first time I've heard of our zoo going above and beyond. During the flood of 98, a zookeeper even spent an evening on the rooftop safeguarding some of the animals.

A little history about our Texas Zoo.

The Texas Zoo has been a staple of animal entertainment, advocacy, and education for our community since the '50s. What started as a gift of a lioness to then Victoria Mayor W.R. McCright quickly became what we know as our beloved Texas Zoo.

Be a part of upholding our unique animal history.
