Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz’s New Song “Uproar” Sparks Dance Challenge
Lil Wayne finally put out his Tha Carter V album on Friday (Sept. 28) and the project has already sparked the internet's latest dance challenge. It comes courtesy of the Swizz Beatz and Avenue-produced song "Uproar."
The track is Tunechi and Swizz's second recent collab, following "Pistol on My Side" from Swizzy's upcoming Poison album. "Uproar" is an uptempo track that appears to utilize a sample from G. Dep's 2001 song "Special Delivery," a.k.a. the Harlem Shake soundtrack.
On Saturday (Sept. 29), Swizz hopped on Instagram to kick off the fun, showing off a mean Harlem Shake while the new Weezy song blasted in the background. "5:20am recap😂😂😂😂😂 #uproarchallenge #poison #harlemshake Zoneeeeeeee my shoulders were not working well😂," he captioned the clip.
Other celebs have joined in. Casanova posted a video to his Instagram page of himself participating in the challenge in what looks to be a busy New York City street. In his clip, he tells the driver to pull over before getting out of the car and hilariously going in with the dance moves.
Shiggy, who sparked the "In My Feelings" Challenge a few months back, got in on the action as well, putting on his performance in the street while his entourage eggs him on. Others have posted comical videos of themselves wildly freestyling dances to the hype track. It's like 2001 all over again.
