Mac Miller’s Parents Will Attend the Grammys on His Behalf
Mac Miller's parents will attend the 2019 Grammy Awards in their son's place.
Karen Meyers and Mark McCormick plan to be there incase Miller, 26, wins rap album of the year. They will accept the award on his behalf, sources told TMZ.
The rapper's final album, Swimming, was posthumously nominated for the award. It's Miller's first ever Grammy nod. He'll be up against Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy, Travis Scott's Astroworld, Nipsey Hussle's Victory Lap and Pusha T's Daytona.
This is just one of many steps Miller's parents have taken to honor him following his death in September 2018. They pair have been running The Mac Miller Circles Fund, which aims to help the youth in his native Pittsburgh. The fund has raised nearly $1 million in donations to date.
Miller died of an accidental overdose in September. Toxicology found fentanyl and cocaine in his system when he died.
