Mandy Moore’s Hollywood Journey: From “Candy” to a Golden Globe Nom (PHOTOS)
On Mandy Moore's 34th birthday Tuesday (April 10), it's safe to say the This Is Us standout has had a long, varied and strange trek through Hollywood.
After catapulting into pop star fame with 1999 breakout, bubblegum single "Candy," it looked like Moore had set into motion a career as a reliable hit-maker. Still, the sheen of a glitzy celeb just wasn't her style, and her music output eventually went way more indie (think 2007's "Extraordinary") before Moore ultimately focused most of her efforts on acting, instead.
With roles in hit movies like The Princess Diaries, A Walk to Remember, Saved! and Tangled, Moore proved she was just as bankable on screen as she was on the radio, and her identity as sought-after thespian was cemented.
Now, fans are thrilled to have Moore on their TV screens weekly, and wished the Golden Globe nominee a very happy birthday.
"happy birthday @TheMandyMoore you are gorgeous inspiring and simply unbelievable," one wrote, while another noted "Happy Birthday Mandy! @NBCThisisUs has become my favorite show and brings so much joy to my life and I just wanna say thank you for radiating your will power and kindness that makes Rebecca Pearson who she is."
