There are so many things that are just San Antonio such as waiting for a table at Mi Tierra for two hours, the best barbacoa and big red, and a dancing Elvis that could be found in Market Square, may he rest in peace. We might just have to add this one to the list.  A mural popped up in downtown San Antonio depicted a Santa Clause enjoying a Big Red.

Artist Colton Valentine unveiled the finished mural – located at 317 W. Jones Ave., San Antonio, TX 78215, across from the San Antonio Museum of Art on his Instagram page. It has been received well by the public. Valentine continues to tell mysanantonio.com that he wanted to “paint a Santa Claus that resonates with some San Antonio culture, hence the Big Red.”  It looks fantastic. He plans on painting more murals and having an art scavenger hunt in downtown SA.

WHO REMEMBERS SPLASHTOWN IN SAN ANTONIO?

It hasn't even been a year since Splashtown closed down and I know I miss it dearly!  Big Red was also a part of the focal point of this park. Who remembers the mural above the wave pool?
