Male Suspect Escapes Bank Robbery Inside Local Port Lavaca Bank
Port Lavaca Police Department addressed an early morning issue.
EARLING MORNING PORT LAVACA BANK VISIT
Just before 10 am Tuesday morning, Wells Fargo in Port Lavaca noticed a man walk through the front doors. Without any disturbance, the man walked up to one of the bankers and handed them a slip.
SLIPPING A NOTE
The banker reached for the note and discovered it was not a bank slip. As the banker began to read the paper they realized it was, "a note stating his intention to rob the bank."
NO WEAPONS USED
The banker calmly exchanged an undisclosed amount of money. The exchange between the suspect and the bank worker never escalated and the man never flashed or threatened the worker with a weapon.
LINKING THE SUSPECT TO OTHER ROBBERIES
After receiving the money, the suspect fled out the doors and quickly entered an older model tan-colored Mercury. The man fled in the vehicle going southbound on TX-35 S. Port Lavaca Police Department believes this man is believed to be linked to other robberies in the surrounding area.
