Rihanna Celebrates Her 30th Birthday With Intimate Gathering in NYC

Rihanna turned the big 3-0 yesterday, and she celebrated in style with an intimate gathering last night (Feb. 20) in NYC, according to TMZ.

Rihanna shed the $130 "I Hate Rihanna" t-shirt, for a fuchsia gown, as she met up with friends and family at The Pool. Her mom, goddaughter, best friend Melissa Forde, Paris Hilton and her fiancé Chris Zylka and Toni Braxton were reportedly on hand for the shindig.

"10958 days ago @monica_fentybecame a mother for the first time to her only daughter! Today is just as much your birthday as it is mine! I love you mom!" she wrote in a birthday IG post. "Thank you for carrying me, birthing me, raising me, supporting me, teaching me, and loving me unconditionally! The woman I am today is because of everything that you are!
I thank God for perfectly hand picking you to be my mother when He sent my spirit to you! You are the greatest!"

Ri-Ri's 30th birthday has been marked by a number of milestones in the months leading up to her birthday. Back in January, Billboard reported that the singer earned her 50th Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 hit courtesy "Lemon" with N.E.R.D. . Among women, there's only one other artist to match Ri-Ri's latest feat, Taylor Swift who has 55.

She also recently became the first act to score as many as eight No. 1s from one album (Anti) in the history of Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, according to Billboard.
