A scandalous pastor of a megachurch in Dallas, Texas has resigned after his sexual abuse of a young child has finally been revealed.

Robert Morris, the founding Texas pastor at Gateway Church, which has more than 100,000 people attend each weekend across several locations, is involved in a disgusting sexual abuse case.

PASTOR ADMITS TO HIS DISGUSTING CRIMES OF THE PAST

Back in 1987, Morris admitted to his crimes but no legal action was taken. Morris confessed his abuse to the 12-year-old victim's father and the church.

“When I was in my early twenties, I was involved in inappropriate sexual behavior with a young lady in a home where I was staying. It was kissing and petting and not intercourse, but it was wrong,Morris said in a statement to the Christian Post about the allegations.

Now, 54-year-old Cindy Clemishire recounted to NBC News that Morris invited her into his room and touched her inappropriately when she was 12; that abuse continued for 4 1/2 years.

Clemshire was repulsed that he downplayed her age by calling her a 'young lady.' I was 12 years old. I was a little girl. A very innocent little girl, she said.

PASTOR REPENTS AND GETS PAST HIS SEXUAL ASSUALT

Morris was unbelievably let free without legal punishment or justice for the victim. Instead, Morris says,I submitted myself to the Elders of the Shady Grove Church and the young lady’s father. They asked me to step out of the ministry and receive counseling and freedom ministry, which I did. Since that time, I have walked in purity and accountability in this area.”

CHURCH MAKES A STATEMENT ABOUT THE CRIMES

The church has made a statement about the resignation and the lack of punishment after the situation unfolded in the 80s,The elders’ prior understanding was that Morris’s extramarital relationship, which he had discussed many times throughout his ministry, was with a young ladyand not the abuse of a 12-year-old child.”

A law firm has been hired to investigate the abuse allegations.
