During the 2020 pandemic, there have been many things crossed off the calendar this summer but drinking ain't one of them. For a while, you could even get alcohol delivered or take it to go.

Abc13.com reports the good folks up the road in Shiner are getting into the "craft-brewed" hard seltzer game by introducing Shiner Straight Shooter! If there's one thing we can still do during COVID-19, it's pound down some hard seltzer.

While hard seltzer with flavors isn't something new, I've tried them all and have yet to find one I really like. Being that these are from Texas, I'll certainly give them a try.

You'll be able to buy Straight Shooter by the end of the month and it will come in Wild Cherry, Lemonade, Mango, Grapefruit & Lime flavors. Straight Shooter will be gluten-free, zero carbs, and 90 calories in each can.

The folks in Shiner figured that White Claw and Truly shouldn't be able to keep the 200% market share in 2019 all to themselves. Brewmaster Jimmy Mauric said, "When we set out to make our first hard seltzer we knew it had to be genuinely craft-brewed."

Shiner jumps in line not long after Coca-Cola let everyone know they would be introducing Topo Chico Hard Seltzer in 2021. Anheuser-Bush InBev makes three different brands of seltzer themselves.

In the last couple of years, hard seltzer has been super popular. In 2019 White Claw actually ran out of stock. The younger crowd says seltzers are easy to drink and usually contain less than 5-percent alcohol and are light on calories.
