Short-Lived Police Chase In Houston Texas Ends with Two Dead
A short-lived late-night police chase in Houston ended fatally after a car smashed into a concrete barrier and rolled over, killing two of four passengers.
RUNNING A RED LIGHT
Houston Police engaged in a short-lived chase after the driver of a vehicle ran a red light around 2:38 am. The officer involved in the chase said the suspect nearly ran into a car after running a red light on Broadway Street in Houston.
When the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver refused and sped off. However, the chase only lasted less than two minutes after ending horrendously.
POLICE ENGAGE IN CHASE
While trying to evade police, the suspect's car slammed into a concrete barrier and rolled over in a nearby parking lot. The vehicle was left smashed and unrecognizable.
Unfortunately, one of the suspects inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other men inside the vehicle were taken to the hospital, however, one would later pass away from his injuries.
EVIDENCE SUGGESTS CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
While investigating the scene, officers noted that the suspects inside the vehicle appeared to be dressed in a way that indicated they were out committing crimes.
"I will say that two of the suspects were wearing black hooded sweaters with gloves on, which is a strong indication that they were involved in some type of criminal activity," Asst. Chief Adrian Rodriguez said. "I cannot be certain that is the case, but it appears to be so."
Adding to the speculation, investigators found more evidence of possible criminal activity in the suspect's vehicle. A bag with a BB gun, various screwdrivers, and a bag of burglary tools were found throughout the vehicle.
The driver, who is one of two suspects who survived, will likely be facing an evading charge. The names of the suspects involved in the fatal chase have not been released, however, police noted that they all looked young.
