Sparklight Donates $1,500 to Golden Crescent Food Bank
The holidays are a time of giving, but for many local families, rising costs have made this season especially difficult. Sparklight is stepping up to support neighbors in need with a $1,500 donation to the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent.
The donation comes at a time when the holidays can be especially hard for families who are already struggling to afford groceries. Food banks often see more people asking for help during this season, and the funds will help the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent continue providing meals and basic necessities to families across Victoria and nearby counties.
“As the need at food banks grows, organizations like the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent are absolutely vital,” said Kenny Walker, Senior Regional Director, South Central. “Sparklight is proud to partner with them in helping bring new hope and brighten the holidays for those in need.”
Food bank leaders say donations like this make a real difference.
“We’re very thankful for Sparklight’s support,” said Valerie Fowler, Community Engagement Director for the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. “Sparklight’s donation allows us to reach more families and extend more compassion during the crucial time.”
The gift is part of Sparklight’s Refer-A-Friend: Connections That Matter campaign. The program rewards customers who help friends sign up for internet service. When a new customer stays connected for 30 days, both the new customer and the person who referred them receive a $50 prepaid card. The campaign also allows Sparklight to give back to the communities it serves.
The donation is part of Sparklight’s ongoing efforts to support local communities through nonprofit partnerships, volunteer work, and programs focused on education, internet access, and fighting hunger.
