A Texas teacher has pled guilty to sexually assaulting one of her students in court this week.

SEXUALLY EXPLICIT TEXT MESSAGES FOUND

35-year-old Emily Marie Anderson was a special education teacher at Canyon High School in New Braunfels, Texas. In August 2021, Anderson was arrested after a parent of one of her students found sexually explicit texts on her son's cell phone.

The text messages were traced back to Anderson's phone and earned her a second-degree felony, as she was charged with sexual assault of a child. Just months later, Anderson was arrested and charged again; this time a felony charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student.

The victim's mother admitted, "When I saw those messages — when I went through that phone, my instinct was to go and get you out of that school and deal with you myself."

Anderson admitted to police that "She had sex with the victim in a biology classroom closet. He was 15 years old at the time." This week she plead guilty to the charges against her in court.

According to the agreement, Anderson will have a 10-year probation period, during which she is required to serve 60 days in jail. She is also required to pay a fine totaling $2000. Lastly, she will need to complete 500 hours of community service.

The mother of the victim is devastated for her son, who she said now has depression and anxiety. "I trusted you," the mother said, "You knew what we were going through, and you knew he was behind in school."
