Special Needs Student Scores Big in Amazing Basketball Debut
This is what sports are all about.
Bryan Doherty, a senior manager for Pelham (NH) High School boys basketball team, was inserted in the team's game last Friday and promptly drilled the first shot he took, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Doherty, who's served as team manager for the last four years, said, "Everyone was going crazy."
The shot was so huge, in fact, that even the opposing team cheered him, in a good show of sportsmanship.
Pelham, by the way, won the game, 70-30. Now, there's a movement to get him even more recognition. A social media campaign on Twitter with the hash tag #GetDohertyOnSportsCenter has been launched to feature him on the iconic ESPN show.
You can check out the reaction from Doherty's teammates in another report below.
