St. Joseph High School Prepares for Graduation May 30th
As their big day gets closer, all 77 St. Joseph High School seniors get more excited. They are likely especially excited considering two months ago they were not sure this day would happen. This Saturday, May 30th at 7:30 pm St. Joseph seniors will graduate at the Bloomington High School Football Stadium.
It will be the first time in the history of STJ that their senior class will graduate outdoors at the Bloomington High School Football Stadium.
Students, family, and faculty could not be happier, even as social distancing guidelines from the Texas Education Agency will be upheld such as COVID screenings, scheduled arrival times, and assigned seating. It's still a time of community, commencement, and celebration. According to the TEA, masks are optional.
Here is the last photo of the majority of the 2020 STJ Senior Class taken at a pep rally before the COVID-19 pandemic. We're sure to see these big smiles again on May 30th!
Shandee Harrell, Director of Communications offers, " The Graduation Ceremony will consist of speeches from the STJ Valedictorian Erin Dent and Salutatorian Grace Hammack, Hayley Fleener, Historian will provide the invocation and pledge, presentation of senior awards, and presentation of diplomas by STJ President John Gilley and STJ Board Chairman Mike Cavazos. There will also be a blessing by Fr. Stephen Vacek. The event will be live-streamed for those friends and family unable to attend (details on how to access are forthcoming). If for some reason weather prohibits the May 30 event we will have a make up date on the following Monday."
Congrats to all seniors of the Class of 2020!
