No doubt about it: When Keith Urban covers your song, it's always a big deal -- even if you're an international superstar like Taylor Swift. On Saturday (Aug. 31), during his set at the Washington State Fair, Urban delivered his own rendition of the title track of Swift's just-released new album, Lover. Soon after, Swift fangirled hard on social media, expressing how flattered and proud she was that the country star had chosen to cover her song.

"MY HEART EXPLODED INTO CONFETTI HEARTS THANK YOU," the singer wrote on Twitter, alongside video of Urban's performance. On her Instagram Stories, she also said "Keith Urban covering 'Lover' flawlessly I am screaming," adding that his version was "beautiful." Even before he performed his own take on the track, Urban was a fan of "Lover." When the song came out in mid-August, he shared on Twitter how much he loved the song. "When a song so exquisitely written becomes a record so gorgeously crafted, I feel such a deep sense of gratitude for the 'art' of making music," he wrote.

Onstage, Urban took that fandom a step further. "Every now and then you hear a song that you love and wish you'd written..." he wrote on Instagram, also adding that he and his band hadn't had much time to prepare for their performance. "We didn't get to rehearse, so...this is us fully winging it," he said.

The two artists have a long history of collaborating and supporting each other. In 2009, Swift even opened for Urban on tour, and they both appear as featured artists on Tim McGraw's 2013 hit, "Highway Don't Care."
