MOTHER HOME WITH CHILD

A terrified Texas mother was home around 9 pm with her daughter when she called the police informing them an intruder had made their way into her home. 36-year-old Carlos Garcia had broken into the rural Edinburg home.

The woman who lived inside the home took her daughter into a bedroom and locked the door behind them. Garcia realized the homeowner was inside the room and began to try and unlock it.

The woman shouted at the intruder informing him she had a gun and that the police had been called and were on their way. However, Garcia continued to try and break into the room.

As the mother and daughter continued to hide inside the locked room, they continued to hear Garcia relentlessly try and break his way inside. Finally, after she could not get rid of Garcia, the woman shot and fired her gun through the door.

Garcia was shot in the arm and quickly left the home. Police arrived shortly after and began an air search. Carlos Garcia was quickly found only about 100 yards away. He was medically cleared and taken in and charged with one count of Burglary of Habitation with Intent with a bond set at $750,000.
