Bomb Squad Finds ‘Incendiary Devices’ at Austin Tesla Dealership
Things just got even more intense for Tesla as more of their showrooms continue to be the target of fiery attacks.
Austin Police discovered incendiary devices at a Tesla dealership Monday morning, sparking a bomb squad to be called out.
According to the Austin Police Department, officers were called to the dealership on US 183 Highway around 8:04 a.m. after a report of suspicious items. Once on the scene, officers found devices that were later determined to be incendiary.
The APD bomb squad secured the materials without incident, but officials say the investigation is ongoing, and details remain limited.
TARGETING TESLA SHOWROOMS
In recent weeks, Tesla properties have begun to see an increase in targeted attacks. Tesla showrooms and charging stations have been vandalized as frustration towards Elon Musk and his hand in politics continues to grow.
Just days before the devices were found, a protest took place outside this same Austin dealership, according to KXAN. However, there is no known connection between the demonstration and the devices at this time.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is taking a hard stance against these attacks. The U.S. Attorney General recently announced charges against 3 people accused of vandalizing Tesla properties. She called the incidents “domestic terrorism” and vowed that anyone caught participating in attacks on Tesla would face serious consequences.
TRUMP ISSUES INTERESTING THREAT TO VANDALS
Even Trump himself has weighed issuing interesting and slightly confusing threats which include the threat to deport anyone involved in Tesla vandalism to El Salvador to serve out their sentence.
