Texas Not the Best State to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
The Lone Star State has among the lowest numbers of Irish people, which probably accounts for the fact that it's among the worst states to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
According to statistical research by Wallet Hub, not surprisingly Boston is the best city in the nation for the holiday, while San Bernardino, CA is the worst.
Based on numbers including numbers of Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, lowest price for a 3-star hotel on St. Patrick's Day, and typical weather forecast for the holiday, Texas didn't have very many cities on the list.
Our top city is Laredo which came in at 37th, Corpus Christi ranked 57th, Lubbock at #62, Garland #63, and Austin at #66.
Since I haven't seen any Irish pubs around lately, I guess I can just head to the liquor store for some Guiness, some fine Jameson or Bushmills and maybe some corned beef and cabbage. Here at the station, we're having chips and guacamole dip and cookies shaped like shamrocks.
