Texas Deputy Murdered During Scary Little Caesars Pizza Dispute
In a shocking and tragic turn of events, a Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy was ambushed and killed while investigating a violent robbery sparked by an incorrect pizza order.
TRACKING DOWN SOME OF THE MOST VILE CRIMINALS
28-year-old Deputy Fernando Esqueda was a 5-year veteran of the sheriff’s office and a proud member of a task force that hunts down some of the most vile criminals like child rapists, homicide suspects, and other violent offenders.
RESPONDING TO AN AGGRAVATED ASSAULT CALL
Deputy Esqueda responded to an aggravated assault call at about 10 p.m. Wednesday at a Little Caesars Pizza in northeast Harris County. According to Chief Deputy Mike Lee, the suspect had become upset over an incorrect pizza order, shouted at, and pistol-whipped the employee before speeding away.
An employee was able to provide enough details for Deputy Esqueda to track down the suspect's vehicle however, the suspect was gone. As he was calling it in to dispatch, he was ambushed and shot multiple times.
THE MANHUNT CONTINUES
A manhunt is underway in the Houston area for the individual responsible for the killing, confirmed by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Sheriff Gonzalez expressed profound sadness, stating,
“We mourn the loss of Deputy Fernando Esqueda, who tragically passed away after being shot while protecting our community. His commitment to duty and his sacrifice will always be remembered.”
