A vile and despicable mother is sitting in jail awaiting transportation back to Texas after U.S. Marshalls were finally able to track her down after abandoning her young children.

Detectives have been looking for 31-year-old Raven Yates from Montgomery County, Texas. Yates allegedly abandoned her 12-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son in her Texas home.

To protect herself, investigators said 'Yates threatened her young daughter that if she told anyone the girl's father would take her and leave her brother alone.'

Tragically the 12-year-old girl was scared enough to keep silent about their situation. To feed herself and her 3-year-old brother, the girl would ask her father to order food for them because her mother was working.

The 12-year-old's father was finally contacted by family members who spotted Yates childless in her hometown Mobile, Alabama. Police were beginning to zone in on Yates, who was actively posting about her situation.

Finally, police received the tip they needed and confirmed Yates was staying at an apartment in Mobile. Roman Forest police Chief Stephen Carlisle said a U.S. Marshals task force had to break down the bedroom door of an older man's apartment to find her.

Photos show Yates smiling looking carefree as she is arrested, meanwhile her children were left to fend for themself alone in an entirely different state, scared to reach out for help.

"I don't know if she was playing a part or whatever it is, but she, I think, was playing for the camera. She wanted to have a smile. She wanted to look good, "Chief Carlisle said. According to an arresting officer, Yates even asked about putting lipstick on before the photo was taken.
