Texas Pub Gets Grilled By Gordan Ramsey in Kitchen Nightmares
When Gordan Ramsey is spotted around town, you know something is about to go down.
Celebrity chef Gordan Ramsey was spotted in Georgetown, Texas last October and now, months later, residents know why. Ramsey is the star of the nail-biting, chaotic, and a LOUD TV show, Kitchen Nightmares.
Ramsey's appearance in Georgetown, Texas was strictly business. He was there to drop in on a local restaurant, The Grumpy George Pub & Grub. The local eatery was pretty new and owner, Karen Soeffker, didn't understand why the show was interested in her spot.
The show approached her interested in getting to know about their restaurant for a potential feature in the infamous Kitchen Nightmares television show.
"I said to them why did you choose us, we're brand new, obviously the kitchen is brand new," said Soeffker.
However, they quickly informed her that it wasn't the physical restaurant that intrigued them. "They looked at me and said actually, you are the nightmare, so I'm a real living human-kitchen nightmare. It was me."
"We opened a restaurant with no experience and no knowledge of the restaurant business, and that is not a good idea, it’s a very serious business," said Soeffker.
The crew came and eventually, Gordan Ramsey made his entrance, ready to break them down before he built them up. That was all back in 2024, and now, the episode aired for the world to watch.
Clips of Ramsey show him critiquing the food he was served at The Grump George. One clip shows him picking apart a dish intended for vegetarians only to find bits of bacon intertwined in the dish.
Now, the owners are grateful for the experience and major help they received from Ramsey. "It really was a blessing," said Soeffker. "He did a lot to save us, to help us." There has already been an uptick of traffic coming through their doors, which they credit to Gordan Ramsey.
