Roadwork is part of all the seasons in Texas and that includes the holidays as well.

Crews will continue to work right up until the holiday this week over on Country Club Drive as the next 3 days will feature partial closures for motorists in the city of Victoria. Utilities are being repaired along Country Club road and these temporary and partial closures will make it easier and safer for crews to complete the work this week.

The closure was announced last Friday and will take place between Stephenson and Navarro streets. If the weather does not cooperate then the road work may get pushed back to after the Christmas holiday.

All businesses that are located within the road work zone will be remaining open during the road work. Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes if you are heading into the area. Traffic delays may occur in and near the roadwork area so if you are headed to this area of town allow yourself some extra time to get there and navigate the road closures.

For more information on the road work, you can contact Engineering with the City of Victoria by calling 361-485-3340.

With just days to go before Christmas remember to keep your car locked and any gifts or valuables hidden from view. A number of car thefts and car break-ins occurred in 2019 leading up to Christmas. Let's not let that happen again this year. Be safe and enjoy the final days of holiday shopping.
