A String of Slayings

A man has confessed to multiple counts of rape and murder. 

28-year-old Reginald Gerard Kimbro was finally charged with multiple counts of capital murder after being arrested in 2017.

Kimbro was charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Molly Matheson who was 22 at the time. Matheson and Kimbro dated while they both attended the University of Arkansas. Police found Matheson slain in her apartment on April 10, 2017, and shortly arrested Kimbro after.

Another victim was found in a Dallas lake. The body of 36-year-old Megan Getrum of Plano had been missing for less than a week when her body was found.

How He Lured His Victims

“He used his personality and charm to attract women or drugged them when that did not work,” Assistant Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney Allenna Bangs.

During the investigation, it was determined both women were sexually assaulted and strangled. DNA and cellphone records were used to convict Kimbro.

A String of Charges

Kimbro was sentenced in each case to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He also pleaded guilty Friday, March 18 to raping four other women, the Tarrant County district attorney's office said.

Kimbro also pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting three women in Collin County, located just north of Dallas, and a woman in South Texas’ Cameron County. Kimbro received sentences of 20 years for each rape in Collin County and life in prison for the Cameron County case.
