Amazing! College Team Pulls Off Two Triple Plays in One Game [VIDEOS]
Triple plays are about as common as the Cleveland Indians winning the World Series, so imagine how amazing it would be to see not one, but TWO, in the same game.
That’s exactly what happened when Penn State managed to pull a pair of trifectas when hosting Michigan State on Friday. The Nittany Lions got the first one in the fourth inning and then recorded the second in the eighth.
Despite the dynamite defense, the Nittany Lions fell to the Spartans, 4-2.
Turning two triple plays had only been done once in NCAA history prior to this, back in 2006 when Gonzaga managed the feat against Washington State. The only time it's happened at the big leave level was in 1990 when the Twins did it against the Red Sox. You can see that below.
