TX Man Arrested For Stealing Zoo Animals Says “He’ll Do It Again”

The Dallas Zoo was on high alert after a series of animals mysteriously went missing.

MISSING ZOO ANIMALS

After multiple animals went missing, including two monkeys and a feeder fish, a man had begun raising suspicion after he was seen hanging around the zoo asking questions about moving and caring for certain animals. He continued to raise suspicion after he was seen entering the building through staff-only doors.

TIPS STARTED COMING IN

Tips began flowing in after the Dallas Zoo released a photo of the suspicious man. The man has been identified as 24-year-old Davion Irvin, an avid animal lover and the person behind the string of strange crimes at the Dallas Zoo.

HOW HE DID IT

Irvin admitted to the crimes and explained to the police how he did it. Irvin waited until it was dark then jumped over the zoo's fence. "He cut through a part of an animal enclosure and took two emperor tamarin monkeys," according to arrest warrant testimonies.

MULTIPLE ANIMALS FOUND

Irvin took the monkey to a vacant Dallas home and kept them there until they were discovered by police. In the home, they also found a dead feeder fish similar to one that had gone missing from the zoo, along with fish food.

A SHOCKING STATEMENT TO THE POLICE

Irvin was arrested and charged with 6 counts of animal cruelty and 2 counts of burglary. Shockingly, court documents say Irvin explained that he loved animals and "if he’s released from jail, he would steal more."
