Victoria has broken a new county record for early voting as over a thousand Victoria community members lined up yesterday when the doors opened at 2805 N.Navarro at the Patti Dodson Wellness Center and at Faith Family Church.

According to the Victoria Advocate, yesterday in Victoria County 1,720 residents cast their ballots, setting a new early voting record from 2016 by more than 300 votes.

Early voting benefits include reduced wait times on election day while reducing the burden on election day for poll workers but early voting also has the potential to increase turnout and expand the electorate, so says Projectvote.org

Other voting locations are offered at Placedo VFD, Inez VFD, Bloomington Elementary School, and the Victoria Community Center, on Saturday, October 24th from 9 A.M. - 5 P.M.  and Sunday, October 25th from 7 A.M. - 7 P.M.

UHV has added a new voting station as well. According to the UHV Newswire webpage, here, " The University of Houston-Victoria will be an early voting site for the first time as a convenience to both students and community members ahead of the Nov. 3 election. The location will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 and noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 25 in the UHV University North Multi-Purpose Room, 3007 N. Ben Wilson St. Voters must wear a mask to enter the building. Only those registered in Victoria County can vote at this location.
