Wait, Was the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Cancelled?
To anyone looking forward to this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, we have some bad news for you: It might not be happening.
During a recent interview with The Daily Telegraph, Australian model Shanina Shaik — who's walked in the fashion show in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2018 — revealed that the annual event wouldn't be taking place in 2019.
"Unfortunately, the Victoria's Secret show won't be happening this year," she divulged. "It's something I'm not used to because every year around this time I'm training like an angel. But I'm sure in the future something will happen, which I'm pretty sure about."
"I'm sure they're trying to work on branding and new ways to do the show, because it's the best show in the world," she added.
In May, The Wall Street Journal reported that the show wouldn't be televised, but there was not mention of it being all together cancelled. The outlet reported that in an internal memo sent to employees, L Brands Chairman and Chief Executive Les Wexner said he had "decided to re-think the traditional Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Going forward we don’t believe network television is the right fit."
The lingerie company has not made a statement confirming Shaik's claims. Last year, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and more high-profile models walked in the show.
