Is Reese Witherspoon ready to add another Legally Blonde flick to her pink, scented résumé?

Entertainment Tonight reports that the actress "is in talks to reprise her role as Elle Woods," the beloved character who Witherspoon, just 24 years old at the time, first brought to the screen in the iconic 2001 rom-com Legally Blonde.

The report comes a little over a year after Witherspoon expressed her eagerness to play Elle again during an appearance The Late Late Show With James Corden. While chatting with the talk show host in March 2017, the Oscar winner mused about potential plots for a second sequel.

"I think it would be kind of cool to see her 15 years later. Like, what's she doing now? ... She could [be the first female president]. She could be a Supreme Court Justice, or she could be a really great, powerful attorney... or she could be in prison!" the actress joked.

Witherspoon reprised her role as Elle for the 2003 sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, which saw the plucky Harvard graduate head to Washington, D.C. to help change legislation on animal testing.

The franchise also inspired a 2009 direct-to-DVD spin-off, as well as a successful Broadway musical of the same name.
